Bowling rules:
- The game is played with 10 pieces and a ball larger than a bowling pin.
- A game consists of 10 frames. Two rolls are possible within a frame.
- The score of a field is given by the sum of the pieces decided during 2 rolls.
- The player gets bonus points if he knocks down all the pieces. If he does this on the first roll within the field, the bonus is called a strike (marked by an “X” on the monitor), in which case the second roll is skipped and the field result is increased by the results of the next two rolls.
- If the player saves on the second roll, the bonus is called spare ("/"), then the result of the field increases with the result of the subsequent roll.
- If you touch the entry line while rolling, the machine will classify it as an invalid hit, and your score will be "0" (indicated by the letter "F" on the monitor).
- A split is a position where, after the first roll, the first piece has fallen, and among the remaining pieces there is one that does not have a connecting piece in the formation. In these positions, it is significantly more difficult to roll a spare. The monitor indicates such a position with a red number.
- In bowling, the balls have a uniform diameter, but their weight varies between 6 and 16 lb (2.7 and 7.2 kg).
- Bowling is played in special shoes; street shoes are not allowed on the bowling alley!
